· NO September 1999 Meeting but come to the August 29th Softball Game & Pot Luck

Softball Game against
the District Attorney's office
The game was held on August 29th at Cadman
Park, 4280
Avati Dr. in Clairemont at 10AM. The DAs steamrollered
us in the first 8 innings but we almost caught up in the 9th. Final
score was 25-21,
We had some good discussion with the Deputy DA at the pot luck barbecue.

March 1, 1999 Meeting: For the first time in COPS
history, a Family Court Judge spoke. Judge Jerry Jessop was elected in
November 1998, and his first assignment will be in Family Court.
· At our July 6th 1998
meeting guest speaker Garry Haenly from the Child Abduction Unit of the
San Diego County District Attorney's Office spoke about chasing child
abductors.
· On Saturday, May 2nd 1998, we hosted the statewide Quarterly COPS meeting in San Diego, 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Guest speakers
were San Diego County District Attorney Paul Pfingst, Assembly Budget
Committee Chair Denise Ducheny, candidates Charlene Zettel, Linda Brown, and
Susen Fay, Lowell Jaks of the ANCPR, and Patty Diroff of the CRC. The
meeting was a bang-up success.
· June 1st meeting featured Guest speaker Dr. Shari Delisle, Executive Director
of Kids' Turn. Kids' Turn provides assistance to children aged 4-14 whose
parents separate or divorce and is an affiliate of Center for Community
Solutions. Parents are also strongly encouraged to participate in the
program.
